Hey Marcy, can you bring a salad to the potluck?

Oh sure!

When invited to a potlock, I’m often asked to bring a salad.

I am not complaining! That is an easy thing to bring! So yay for me!!

But in my years of pot-lucking, I have come to the conclusion that the healthy salad always sticks around the longest.

And then the person who brought that salad has to shamefully take home the leftovers whilst being emotionally scathed by the fact that no one asked for the recipe!

How embarrassing!

Enter: the Crunchy Tossed Salad! And the crowd goes wild!

The best unhealthy salad to bring to your next potluck!

What’s so great about having your salad devoured by the entire party at the end of the night? The host feels the need to wash your salad bowl! If you’re even luckier, the host might just offer you some of the leftovers to put in your clean salad bowl container! Double whammy!

This crunchy tossed salad contains all the ingredients one needs in order for a salad to be a success: Nuts, fried noodles, bacon, oil and very little vegetables.

Here’s the recipe you’ve been waiting for! Serving size 10-12

  • 1 head iceberg lettuce, sliced
  • 6 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/3 cup sliced toasted almonds
  • 1/4 cup toasted sesame seeds
  • 4 green onions, sliced
  • 3/4 cup chow mein noodles

Dressing: 1/2 cup vegetable oil, 1/4 cup sugar, 2 tbsp vinegar, 1 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper
